Over the course of the summer Port of Wisbech has welcomed 6 new fork lift trucks. It was the right time to expand and modernise the fleet of vehicles to maintain the highest service level and do our part to reduce emissions. The new arrival includes four diesel trucks which have the G2 Euro 5 engine and Diesel Particulate Filter, making them a lot cleaner to operate. Also paired with a full maintenance contract with the manufacturer to maintain a high standard of condition to keep emissions low.

In addition, two new fully electric FLT’s have also arrived. The HELI G2 Lithium Forklift Trucks are equipped with LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) batteries, which offer significantly enhanced safety compared to traditional lithium batteries found in electric vehicles. LiFePO4 batteries reduce the risk of combustion, which makes them one of the safest lithium options on the market.

The stevedores and loading staff at Port of Wisbech have already been putting the new trucks to good use when loading vehicles and discharging vessels.
